Bathtub Bliss

Some days, speeding through a morning shower just won’t do. Racing through your shave, shampoo & rinse ritual – no matter how proud you are of your Olympian-like hustle – isn’t going to cut it. Yes, every now and then, we all need to slow down and draw ourselves a warm bath. My choice for a bath’s perfect pairing (think a sprig of mint to your summer lemonade) is Molton Brown’s Atoll Crystal Bath Soak.
Part of Molton Brown’s Unwind series, this bath soak employs a problem (tired, aching muscles), solution (mineral-rich salt crystals from the Caribbean), and result (revived muscles, relaxed body, healthy looking skin) method of approach. But unlike your shower routine, you can lay back and let it do the work for you. Two capfuls of this bath soak transforms a tub of bathwater into the spa-like (and guilt-free) downtime that we all deserve.
One thing I like most about these aquamarine crystals is that, once dissolved, they're subtle enough that I don’t feel the need for another bath just to remove the filmy layer from my skin. Instead, after soaking for about 20 minutes, my skin felt clean, fresh, and was thankful to be awakened from a long winter’s nap.
But you can do more than just hop in the tub to dream of spas and pretty-smelling soaps. If you have the means, by all means make a trip out of it. Molton Brown products and treatments are featured at the spa at
Hotel St. Barth Isle de France. The spa promises to nurture body, mind, and spirit, with treatments ranging from renewing massages to body cocoons and personalized therapies.
Meanwhile, the rest of us can stay at home and make the most out of our $35 bath soak. And it ain’t too shabby!
